Leap day

Leap Day is like electing a new President: a convoluted thing that luckily only happens once every four years.

Leap Day is like missing your flight because you went to the airport at 5 pm instead of 5 am: the effect of a calendar approximation.

Leap Day is like getting a two dollar bill as a change: weird, but somehow cool.

I used to know a guy who was born on Leap Day: he used to celebrate his birthday on the day before, or after, or both, just in case.

I used to know a girl who was born on Leap Day: she started to lie about her age very early on, "I'm not 28, I'm only 7 years old!"

I used to know a dog who was born on Leap Day: the maths were too complicated to figure out how old it would be in human years, so we gave up.

Enjoy Leap Day, a day when it's fine to be a bit weird.

I guess.
